A Chiaroscuro Film

(written a week before the MHCCS Family Day, February 2017)

The 1978 movie entitled Love Birds started it all.

The pentalogy Sibs which ran from 1979 to 1986

Was a box-office hit drawing a handful of viewers

To the global screen,

With the characters breaking the fourth wall.

On set, do the limelights adorn the lovely scene,

Or do the shadows ruin that perfect portrait?

Ah, nah!

Conjoined, they metamorphosed to a yet better adorable film.

Both struggle to develop the other,

To live with the other.

Then shown a scene of intense emotion

Where love amidst pain strives.

The actors and the viewers prefer

The bright lights to the dark shadows,

But the Director claps

To the cinematographic blend

Of lit and shaded frame.

Periphery of My Vision

You are the most stunning of all creation

                the most beautiful of all creatures

You’re the only flower among the thorns

You’re my sight’s one astonishment.

You are the most dazzling in the wilderness

                the most shining star in the heavens

                the best heartbeat I could love

You’re graceful beyond compare

You’re the one that captivates my eyes.

Everyone’s a blur, but you I can see clearly

Even if you’re just at my vision’s periphery.
