Mistake

by roar

At times,
we just have to accept
that we once made
a mistake.

Once we elected a leader
unbecoming of a leader
a supposed statesman
who forgot to become a human.

May 2016
unparalleled statistic
But killing spree
Also an unparalleled statistic

Promises promised
but cusses cussed
and curses cursed.

Playing god
and acting god?
I can only pray

to the true God.

Once the Filipino people
made a mistake.
Sadly, the mistake continues...

Hope in the Face of Fear

by Rowel Allan A. Rocaberte
written during our first recollection at the
Mary Help of Christians Theology Seminary

My first step through the towering gate
Left foot ahead of the right
Questioning the forehead’s wrinkle
Proceeded like an armored knight.

The gradient combination of orange and crimson
Five sunsets seem to rise above the ocean
So still and silent and splendid
                Darkness, the Taborean face shun.

Lights out and I was now alone
No room for desolation for tittles flicker
Stars shine and planes sprint above
All gloom is gone and loneliness and winter.

Two fires from left and right produce wonder
One fire of hope in my room’s ceiling
                While casting of my troubles

A string of beads, day’s door closing.
